Volunteer Programs

Bais Refoel is actively seeking enthusiastic volunteers for our programs. If you love people, love our community and have some extra time to positively impact the lives of others, please reach out to us. We currently have openings in these initiatives:

• Visiting People, All kinds of visits for all kinds of people!

• Hospital Visits
• Nursing Home Visits
• Senior Care Visits
• Home Bound Visits

Depending on what you would like to do, we have many options. You can pick a schedule and based on your schedule visit and develop a relationship with a community member. You can choose to visit patients at a certain facility. We will help you through all the arrangements to make this happen. We have many nice home bound people that love a visit.

• Phone Calls, Just talk on the phone!

This is a basic but interesting program. You can elect to handle inbound calls or outbound calls or a blend. The basic call is just checking in on someone, making sure they are ok and know we are caring about them. Other calls may be from volunteers looking to join the organization or people wanting more information. You set your schedule. If you speak Russian, Yiddish or Hebrew that is also a plus.

• Transportation.

Driving clients to and from medical appointments. This will be scheduled. If you volunteer for this program. Our Transportation director will reach out to you. They will have an understanding of where you live and what areas you want to service and your schedule. They will ask you if your available and to confirm your help. Additionally we have needs often on a Friday afternoon where we have high school volunteers that will be visiting people in hospital and other facilities. They often need a ride from school to the hospitals and back to school.

• Baby Sitting / Adult Care.

This is a service we offer as needed as an example if a person needs a baby sitter for a few hours during an appointment or a companion for an adult. 

• Event Services

All kinds of options here. We regularly have events and need help in from many directions. Promoting the events, setting up, helping during the event, cleaning up
